The deadline to file for City Council is noon on June 1. The seats on the ballot in November are Ward 4 and At-Large. State law now requires filing to occur in the County Clerk's Office. Filing fee is $20.

Metcalf Road will close Monday, May 15 from N. Third to S. First streets as work begins on the stoplight project at Amity and Metcalf. The detour route for southbound Metcalf is Rogers Road to S. Ninth Street and east to Metcalf. The northbound Metcalf detour is N. Broadway to N. Third Street and east to Metcalf. This detour will be for local traffic and deliveries only .... Amity will remain open for regular traffic passing through Louisburg.
